Working directory switching

Geneg

Member
In assembly mode when I add a new file to my assy and I grab a file from a directory different from my working directory, ProE switches my working directory to the directory of the last added file.
<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
I wonder how to fix it, that my working directory will not change. I assume that it will be in config.pro.

Thanks.

HI
it is not happening actually, if u set a working directory that will be ur working directory untill u change it. and when u open a new file from other directory. after it only shows the last opend directory and u can always come bak to ur woking directory by pressing the tab on the top of the file open window.

Actually in this case whenever u grab a file from another location, when u save the file very first time after open a file from another location, check where the pro saves file and if it saves some where else just click the working directory button at save diallog box. Its a problem that comes with wildfire.

Its actually not a problem, its a config option to be set :

add file_open_default_folder to your config.pro with 'working directory' selected from the drop down box, and it will always saev new parts and assemblies in your working folder

(got no pro here but if i recall correctly its the correct option)

Hi friendz
please read the first thread properly. the problem is not the default working directory.he feels that his working directory is changing when he opens file from other directories, but here only directory is changing, not the working directory. and especially he is in assembly mode. the parts are already created and he is trying to assemble it.

Well, I do think I read it correctly and the solution is what I posted. The option has nothing to do with the 'default working directory'.

What he describes (if i read correctly) wont happen anymore with the config option.
