X-section creation - zones

gggggggggg

New member
Does anyone have any experience with the "ZONE" option when creating X-sections? I don't really understand what it is for or how to use it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg

Well ZONE option is used when you are intrested in looking at an area which falls within your defined radius. So when you create a ZONE you specify the radius and then u will see parts only which fall within that radius mentioned. BUT lets say you have an subassembly which just cuts the zone area than that sub-assembly will also be visible even if majority portion of that subassembly doesn't falls into this zone. This happens because this subassembly just cuts the ZONE.

The best use of ZONE is that we ca then create a simplified rep by using this zone. This helpa a lot when you are working with big assemblies and you want to concentrate on a particular area and still don't want to find components to include /exclude.

I hope this helps you to get started................
