Sheet Metal Miter Not Good, Need Help...

Hi everyone!

I am bending 1/4" aluminum plate, and it needs a pretty good bend radi
of .5" here is a pic of my problem, it unfolds ok but the miters are
not the best, any ideas of how to make it better? Its the large cut out
that is somewhat triangular is this normal?? I am trying for like a tear drop relief that would follow a tighter profile.

Note, this was done with a "mitered flange" but using just flange I was able to use "close corner" and I got a better relief BUT the command did have trouble in one out of every three corners I tried.

-Thanks for any help!

I did a Mitre Flange and it looked fine.

Steve

Did you form a 2 sided box 1/4 thk .5" bend radius, then do the mitered flange on the ends? Now I can do a mitered flange with no problems on a flat surface, but across an existing radius its not working correctly.

Hi
Usually sw don't show the real shape of the corner in folded state. If you look at the unfolded state (and "Corner treatment" is checked on flat pattern feature) you should see that the corner cutout is looking different. Try manufacture the real part.
