1 Dimension sketch scale

Ricardo K

New member
I have a sketch, kind of a complex one, and I need to scale it in one
dimension only. I tried to use the stretch tool but because of its complexity
there is no centerline for reference. Anyone can help me with this? Feels like
it's a basic thing but I just can't get thru. Cheers!

Draw a sketch before this one with a rectangle prior to your sketch. Reference the verticals of the second sketch to the vertical of the rectangle, and the horizontals to the horizontal. Then by changing the rectangle you will stretch the sketch. This will work for a sketch with straight lines only.

To deal with stretch and rounds, sketch on a plane at an angle to where the sketch should be and project it onto this plane. You will have to find a relation between this angle and the scale factor.
