auto generated bom

hi,


i want autogenerated bill of materials with some contenets like quantity, specification, material and drawing no. with index... i hav assembly with subasm and sub asm with parts.. how can i get it ..?


is it possible in title block also to get the file name of part and other specification which should be custom.. pls mail me if u have and pdf version of this help or specify in deep so i can catch it quickly... i am using wf3.. can i link notes as we can do in solidworks..?

how can i search for bom parameters like mbr, rpt.


how can i put userdefined parameter..? and where/.?

yes it is not difficult only once you have to make the templates for solid part, for assembly for drawings.


the templete must contain the parameters like material, dwg, and any other thing you want to add to BOM the weight factor can be added by running the mass analysis from analysis menu and then converting it in to feature when the feature is being shown in the model tree now u need to add this relation (name it MASS_PROP)


weight=1000*ceil(mass:FID_MASS_PROP,10)


this will add automatically the parameter of weight.


make same templete for assy


add these templetes to template folder and give their path for solid part and design assy


now you need to make the format which u will use in your drawings which will interpret these parameters this can be learnt from help

The most important thing when you make a BOM is to know from start what do you want to show : description, part number, size, weight.... You should make BOM on a piece of paper, with all the columns that you will like to have and then with the help of the link above try to make it in PRO-E.


Because if you later decide to change something is a little hard to do, not impossible but hard, so better to make it well from the start.
