Hi everyone

Hmm... well as topic says, I just started with learning ProE. I read the book,
which is in ''my'' language, step by step but don't want to resume until I
don't understand what have I passed already. So may I please ask:

1. How do I move the whole figure / solid from one to other location? For
example rectangle - I tried to mark the whole one with keeping left mouse
button pressed and it changes to red color and then I clicked on a figure with
left mouse button, keep it pressed and tried to move the figure but - if I
click on the left or right edge then I can move it just left and right. If I
click it on top edge or the edge under it then I can move it only up and down.
2. Im trying to change the view position but neither

- pressing (and keep it pressed) middle mouse button and moving
the mouse up and down, right and left doesn't
make what I would like to

- making a zoom (moving middle mouse button up and down) of them works

. Here is example what I would like to do:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v309/Andreii/proe3.jpgIn the arrow that I showed (when I will learn how to do this for this arrow, I will know how to look at any other location too), I would like to see little more of black background. If the rectangle was 3x bigger, how could I see the left upper corner without zooming and pressing middle mouse button & moving the mouse? Is there third option?

3. When I create defining dimensions, everything works well but if I change from '' Select '' icon to icon, for example, Line, those defining dimensions (with their lines) disappear. I think this is by default options but am I able to change this, so defining dimensions stay there?

4. I tried to print few lines and solids to take a look how it looks on the paper but the whole paper was black - It printed everything, including black background. How do I set the options to not print the background, so I could decide what to print on normal white paper, which lines with what color (other ones black), coordinate system on or off and so on...?

5. When I try to open Conference Server it says that I don't have it installed. I think there is a way to install only Conference Server as addition to ProE, am I correct? In autorun of installation (CD1) do I choose distributed services or collaboration tools?

Im sorry, my English language isn't 100% correct. I know I really should figure out those questions alone because they might be very easy but every beginning is hard. I hope Im still welcome on this forum because I want to learn ProE too.

Thank you.

Dear Andrei2,

This forum is both for novices and experts. You are welcome.

At this stage I would recommend that you take a fast track course, where in you would be taught about the navigation and the basics. It would do you good to go thru the help too. That is the best way to learn. At least that is how I learnt.

It involves a lot of perspiration but then it is really worth it.

Happy learning....

Looks like you have problems moving around PRO-E. This is a quick reference guide to use.

But for more the linkfrom Shrinivasaniyer1 is a good training guide. I used it when I switched from 2001 to WF2.

I can't put more then 2mb so I will put 3 archives, copy all of them in a folder then double-click the first one.

vlad1979 I downloaded this .pdf file but Im not sure what did you try to show me with it / to tell me. I '' think '' some weird datas about ProE - thank you.
I learned first and 5th question (my post in topic). About printing files, I checked other posts. I see here is a lot of knowledge inside just ''printing proe drawing''. Is there any tutorial for this? I checked alone on google.com and searched there. I got an information that I could move the drawing to Acrobat Reader first. Hmmm but I prefer to print directly from ProE. Its strange that when I save something in sketch mode, I can't open this file in drawing mode.
