Black Screen

Coolconnection

New member
I am new to this site and ProE wildfire 3.0. I am trying to set up my system and using config.pro and everything was going well then that is when it happened. My drawing screen is all black and if I move mymouse around some things light up but no drawing. I figured out I could use pre-wildfire defauld screen and I can see my drawings but how do I fix this? It gets quite anoying after awhile.

Thank you all who respond.

That sounds like it. So what do I do? Program all the colors in my options choices? Where can I find the color numbers I'll need for this? Any help is greatly appriciated, thanks.

"Sounds like the system colors are mucked up.
Black geometry on a black background"

try to reset the system color scheme to default:
View/Display Settings/System Colors under scheme tab Scheme/Default/OK

Thanks, I have been doing that and it works but I have to do it every time I open ProE. Is there a way to keep those settings? All I did was change a pen table number from 1 to 2 and saved it and all this happened. Thanks for any help.

Try editing the system colors and save the file. In your config.pro set the option system_colors_file to the location of the file you create. Close ProE and re-open and you should see colors you created.

I don't have a system_colors_file. I have the colors in config.pro to set with all the choices to choose from. Does anyone know the default colors and what they should be?

Thanks

You can do it the way you are doing or you can create a system colors file. The system color has the options you are specifiying along with some others. To create a system colors file modify the colors then select file>save and save an *.scl file. To use this file when you open ProE, open your config.pro, select the find button at the bottom left, type colors as the keyword and find now. Three options should come up and system_colors_file should be one of them. Choose browse toselect the *.scl file you created and add the line. Select the apply button. The system should apply the changes and the next time you open ProE the colors should be loaded from the file.

Thank you, I have done that a few times before but with no luck. Today I went through my system with a fine tooth comb and deleted any and all those files. So far so good and I was able to change my pen setting the way I wanted. Thank you, this is such a great site. I think I view it everyday.
