Hi Everybody

I would be grateful if somebody help me. I want show automaticly BOM Baloons from several the same parts onmore than one view. Is it possible ?? I wanted to do it but I could not 'cos ifit's once shown on one view it is not possible to do it on the other. I work with WF2. The other problem is when I have one part as a backgroundmeans that the drawing of it was done before and there is no need to show it in the BOM . The background part is shown as a dotted line which I do not want to show in thetablerepeat region. And now tothe background partI weld a part which BOM baloon I want to show. So it meanson the drawing view I have shown as a dotted line (background) partandasa solid line part which baloon I need to shown. Is it possiblle to do it ?Does andbody help me I am really woeful

well Pro\e itself prevent to not duplicate dimensions, baloons and such a stuff, You can place baloon manualy as a note or by Insert> BOM baloon

I do not really understand the second case

If there is a baloon for background part and You want to remove it from Repeat table use Filters>item>exclude

To the first question, you can split BOM balloons to more than one view, by defining repeat region (BOM) as Custom, then select balloon symbol you wan't to use andCreate Balloons. To show more than one balloonon the same item, select Split from theRepeat Region, pick balloon you want to split and then select edge or surface of theparton theother viewyou wan't to "duplicate".

To the second question. I assume you want to delete the "background part" from the repeat region. To do that, select the Filter from the Repeat Region menu, select By Item and pick "background part" in the repeat region. Confirm it and BOM ballon for the "background part" won't show anymore. But you should be aware, that the mass for the assembly is still calculated with the background part, so you have to edit relation. Latter applies only in the case, when you are showing masses on the drawing.

Thank youall of you.what I meant was automatic and parametric cway of creation of the BOM baloons. Thank youfor help Skraba. I have tried Split from theRepeat Region but it works if you have a quantity of the models (table) is more then one . It means that I can duplicate the parametric BOM baloon to show it on another view but only if the quantity is more then one. Or I did someting wrong. I figured out that I can do it by REF (reference)BOM Baloons by picking on the each component (then it is parametric based on the table) but than the ballon has the note below number "REF". Is it possible to change the symbol of the REf Baloon because I could not find it anywhere in the PROE installation directory. Does anybody konow here is it ?

Well, if you use BOM balloon with Qty, then you can split it only when the quantity is greater than 1. But, when you use normal balloon, like one in an attached file, you can set it for the repeat region and then split it even if the quantity is 1.

To do that, you will have to clean-up BOM balloons and re-set repeat region with Custom balloon type and then select attached balloon symbol.

taking advantage of this topic I want to also thanks skraba for intresting tips about split

more than I want to share with You with another tip considering Bom baloons

it happens that You are not allowed to change attachment of baloon if it is for subassembly and Your table is flat one

so than You have to change it by Table>Repeat region>Atributes>recursive

after that You are able to change attachment and thanchange table to flat one again!

Muadib3d

you seem to have a bug with your version of Pro/E and you should log it with PTC. I have regularly re-attached B.o.M balloons of a flat table to different components of a sub-assembly.

I would not know that :))) I thought that my Pro\e works well:)))

well, I got version Wildfire 2M210 and I supposed it should be bugs free

but let`s make sure we think about the same thing - this problem appears only for baloon for subassembly(not for single components)

Muadib3d

I have been changing the attachment points of single balloons to sub-assemblies of PCBs and Sheet metal items with thread inserts for years with NO problems.

The one specific case I know of that will cause a problem is when you have two DIFFERENT components listing under 1 entry because the listed parameters match and you have No Duplicates set as a table attribute. In this case Pro/E won't allow you to attach a balloon to either component.

Either you are doing something wrong or there is a new bug in the software.
