copying drg items

Dear all,

Is there any option to copy drg items(views) from one sheet to another sheet in the same drg.

Pls let me know.

Thanks.

Then it would be duplicating and Pro-E won't allow that. But if you are trying to do it for say presentation purposes or so, you can do an 'overlay'. Its under Tools in drawing mode. Its associative to the original part and original view that it was taken from. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply.

Eventhough overlay will not be useful for me, now i come to know that about it.

Thanks again

Rajendran,

It is cleear as to what you want to do. However it is not clear as to why you wish to do.

In short while your WANT is clear your NEED is not. Can you state your need. Perhaps there is a method of achieving it.

Rajendran,

Savw as the drawing with other name, say 'X'.Now merge this drawing withoriginal drawing. Now will notice two sheets in original drawing with the same views. You merge drawings with insert> shared Data> from file.

Hope this will solve your problem.

Hello Prashantch,
Thanks for posting this. I haven't tried to see if this works, but looks like it would. Its a nice tip and yes, still learning something new everyday.
