cross hairs axis on bolt hole circle....

from the subject title you know my question. How do you satisfy the picky manager who came from the board drawing world to make Pro/E bolt hole circle aligned to the center of the circle.

I don't know how to get Pro/E to do this and I am showing the students in our Pro/E one week class mcadcentral.com So make me look good here.

Easy one.

Wildfire 3:

Right mouse click on the cross hair of the small hole
Click Edit Attachment
Select Through Geometry (default)
Select the cross hair of the big hole.

Or you can enter the Angle number.

over.

If you want your holes to point radially into the center of the pcd, create your initial hole via the "hole tool" then axial pattern, rather than a sketched feature and then cut.

or

If you need to sketch the holes, do so with a angular value, then dimension pattern and pattern via the angle.

hope this helps.

How much are class's?

Mr. Design engine,

You mean there is something about pro e you do not know? *grin*

In the drawing options file set this:

radial_pattern_axis hole "yes"

that should allow you to have the cross hairs arrayed in the radial fashion you mentioned.

nice touch with the photoshop...

cheers,

M

Trillicom,

I just tried your solution, which works in wf2 or wf3, thats kewl...My suggestion may only be useful for patterned holes as I just found out...

cheers,

M

This topic made me curious on how my other CAD (SE) would solve this one. Being a long time user I was used to putting center marks and drawing the circle myself (associative ! ). Then I saw the bolt circle command that I (shame, shame) never use. Pleasant surprise : it draws all annotation in one go, rotates the centre marks and even knows its way through randomly placed holes. Anyone mention user-friendly lately ?

Hey Bart,

How's everything going up in Chi-Town? Stumbled across your post while looking for a way to keep my drawing options permanent. Know anything about how to do that?

Say hi to everyone there for me!

P.S. Make me look good here
