Cross section with same name

I have a drawing view with sections infour different portions with same name ("A"). I dont know how to create it. Is there any possible way to create like this?

senthil
you asked a fine quest

yes we ca do that

when you double click on the drawing view
a new window will appears
and go to sections
then go to 2D section
add + symbol goto
first window select secton you want
second window LOCAL
and it will asks for the center POINT on the view
then SPLINE

THIS IS FOR SINGLE LOCAL SECTION

WHEN YOU REPEAT THE SAME WITH SELECTION OF SAME SECTION IN THE SECOND WINDOW YOU CAN CREATE SO MULTIPLE LOCAL CROSS SECTONS

TRY ONCE YOU WILL GET

REGARDS,
RAJASEKHAR.

You can re-use a cross section as many times as you want. You cannot, however, have more than one cross section in the same model with the same name.

exactly dross that what i think .

i tried the way rajasekhar said but no use. i can't make two cross section with same name. and what the use anyways. it would make the drawing confussing. wait a min.

this is not any rule in drawiong. if we make two cross section with same name; that means the drawing is wrong.

I have done this a long time ago. But I had to manipulate the drawing some. What I did (previous version of Pro/E) was to put the view label on a layer and blank that layer so the computer generated text would go away, then I simply placed a new view label under the view with general text. This worked as a sort of "work-around". And to prevent the drawing from being wrong, where the cross-section arrows were, the corresponding cross-section views were referenced so anyone looking for the cross-sections would know there were 3 views generated from the one cross-section.

Hope this makes sense. I know it is a little bit hoaky to do it this way, since the general text label is not computer generated, but it did allow me to accomplish what I was trying to do. As I say, that was using an old version of Pro/E so I don't know if this method works in the latest versions (i don't see why not, though).

I got a new way to create sections with same name. While naming the section, we have to use a space character indirectly. For example, to create no. of "A" sections, type "A" for the first sec., for 2nd, type "A" and type 0160 by holding Alt key. U will get "A " with one space. For 3rd sec., repeat the 0160 for 2nd time. I know this is a cheating way. But there is no way...... Hope u will accept this.....

Why would you want different cross sections with the same name?

This goes against all known drawing practices.

Ya i know that. I explained to authorized person, but he wont to listen. He wants what in sheet. Thanks for replies......

nearly the same problem to me but in diferent drawings. I have 50 diferents drawings asociated in 3D programed with Pro/program with same seccion name "A". drw is ok but the arrows do not appear automatically when the drawing is opened... i must select the view manually to appear the arrows in the seccion view.
