cut through

I'm trying to do a cut though in an assembly drawing to show components behind. I can't seem to figure this out, without added a cut feature in the assembly instance. Which I don't like because the cut stays in the assembly and is annoying. Is there anyway that I can added a cut feature that will only show in the drawing?<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Can anyone help?

Thanks

You might try creating a cross section in the assembly and then in the drawing view you want to showthe components in createa local cross section.

You could use simplify rep....

In the part that you want to cut, add a simplify rep by working region. Then in your assembly substitute that simplify rep.

If you are looking for some thing like that..

see below. (Do this in assembly mode)

Step1. Go to View manger and select XSEC Tab.

Step2. Create new xsec by pressing enter.

Step3. select "model" and "offset" type.

Step4. Then select a planer surface for sketching and sketch the cut as you like.

Step5. Press enter for sketch to execute and there you have your required assembly cut.

Step6. Now create your drawing and place your views accordingly.

If you have any problem you can ask any time.
