Datum Axis placement error message

I am trying to place a datum axis flag in a dimension...

I have already placed the datum axis flag. I right-click on it, go to properties, click "In Dim" and select my dimension then get this message in the task bar...

"Selected part is not active. Select again."

What does this mean? I just made a print a week ago and it worked just fine.View attachment 4890

Look at the bottom of your screen. Where it says name (14923?), is that the model you are trying to attach the flag to? Highlight the view, RMB and pick "set as active model" andit should work.

krow...I did try this thinking maybe another model was loaded by accident, no luck. Thanks for the tip!

After paging though a 100 page config file list (don't worry I didn't read it all) I was able to find the problem. In my config file the default "no" for "create_drawing_dims_only" was changed. Once I set this back to no, I was able to recreate the dimension and correctly place the axis tag on the dimension.

I think there is a config option that might control this create_drawing_dims set to no, which is the default.
