hi,

in an assembly, i have a perticular component whice constantly gets replaced by another component(not an family table inatance). i need to have an note on the drawing showing the number of this replacing component , ie for every component it changes the note should also change to the corrosponding component number.
kindly help, I am working on WF2.

Thanks

won't the BOM (repeat region)work the way you are saying?

every time you replace the component theBOM gets updated. hence showing the correct data.

You need some sort of a revision note, right? Then I'm afraid you can't make this parametric.

If you make a note saying "componentX replaces component Y" there is no way of doing this note parametric. Because you need to writethis with the part ID's like &model_name:id1 and &model_name:id2 and because one of the parts isn't in the assy then you don't know what ID to put.

So write the note by hand. I do the same with my revision notes...
