Drawing with Text File

newbie101

New member
Hi All,

1) I'm trying to draw an irregularly shaped PCB. Problem is that it is described by over 300 points. So drawing it by adding line segments is tedious and would make changes later on very difficult.

I would like to know if it is possible to enter the coordinates into a text file (or excel file) and then import it into Pro/E to draw the shape automatically.

2) How do i merge two blocks (example a solid square and a solid rectangle). I need it to be considered as a single block once merged.

regards,

If you know what you are doing you can hand create a .emn text file an import this into Pro/E via the ECAD interface but it would be an absolute bitch to edit at a later date.

From your second question, I think you need to do the basic training course.

I think i will start drawing in Wildfire.. then export emn... then edit it.. then reimport.
