Drawings without models in Pro/E

I have a client who's looking for hand sketchs of parts and assemblies to be converted to CAD. Typically I would provide 3D models to go with the drawings but they don't want them. I'm thinking that it will still be faster to model their parts since they aren't too complex with the drawings in mind so that i just have to show the dims. Would you agree? I don't have AutoCAD which would be my first thought on this project.

Also i've never tried using Pro/E's drawing module to mimick AutoCAD. Can Pro/E do that? can you use sketcher then bring them into a drawing?

Thanks

What CAD software does your client have? If they have AutoCAD then save your drawings and DXF and deliver those. If they have Pro/E then I would create copies of the drawings, change the views to draft entites and remove the models from the drawings and deliver those. Otherwise you need to discuss with the client what they actualy need (you should anyway).

They have no CAD or designers. They want a CAD version of their hand drawings that they can change if required. They are very small which is where i come in. They don't need engineers or designers as they can't justify the cost. I plan on providing them DXF and PDF and going on from there to help them grow their lines with more complex CAD.

If they have no CAD then you would be making any required changes, keep the files and models and drawings and just send them PDF files. Asthey need to make changes, they should send you marked up prints. How do they plan on having the parts made? Their vendors may like to have access to your models. In effect you are acting as their drafting/design department.
