Family table instance

gops

New member
hello,

Since last few days I have been working on family table. I want to generate the drawings of all instances in one drawing file only. My output should be one drawing file constaining X number of sheets of drawings wherX is number of instances in family table. Suppose I have 20 instances in a family table then my drawing should have 20 sheets each for an instance drawing. Can anyone help me to sort out the issue. Is there any method or programme to do that? Any help is appreciated.

Create a drawing file. add all the instances of model to the drawing file>properties>drawing model>add model(selet and add all the instances one by one)....then set instances active one by one and make drawing of each in different sheets. hope it solve your purpose.......

Here is a method that may get you what you are looking for.

1. Create a drawing (fully detailed) for the first instance.

2. Copy the drawing to another name let's refer to it as drawing #2.

3. Call up drawing #2, and using File>Drawing Models>Replace, replaceinstance #1 with instance #2.

4. Go back to drawing #1 and insert data from other drawing. (In WF5.0 it is under insert on layout tab of the ribbon.See image)This should add drawing #2 to drawing #1 as a sheet with all the details.

5. Call up drawing #2 and replace the instance with instance #3.

6. Go back to drawing #1 and insert data from drawing #2. This should adddetails for instance#3 to drawing #1 assheet #3 with all the details.

repeat the process until you have all of the sheets you need showing all of the instances.

Hope that this makes sense and helps you with what you want to do.

hey where can i see the list of all instances after once I add all instance.

How can after that I active the instance and from which menu?

File>Drawing Models>Set Model - Should give you what you are looking for.

With the layout tab active you can also RMB drawing options to get to the same menu.

hey errt,

As u said I tried to add the instances. But my question is how can I know that the instances are added to that drawing? Is there any list displayed in the drawing file that gives an indication that the instances are added?

After addition of the instances where should I go to to set them active? can u tell me the complete procedure if possible?

I am in urgent need of it.

file>properties>drawing models>set model(from the list select the instance)

the selected model will get activated.
