Family table param in drawing

Hi guys,


I'm trying to show in an assembly drawing the family table parameter (length). Now the thing is that I have more than one parameter in the family table (angle cuts), and I need in tne table only the length. In the same time, I have in the assembly (which is a simple steel structure) components that are not family table driven. See the picture attached with the table I created. The items that show in description "MS BOX" are the famly table driven. The others are not.


Anybody faced this problem before?

I'm working on a assy similar to yours, some parts are family table driven and some are not.


I created a parameter X (string)in each generic, then wrote a relation in each generic x=d356 where d356 is the length for one generic, then x=d326 for the second generic and so on for all. Then I inserted the parameter X into every family table, hit verify and the values should populate automatically. Then I don't know how you created your table, I created a format (.frm) with a repeat region and in the column for the length I selected asm / mbr / user_defined and entered x.


And the cells where it finds the parameter X will have a value the others will be blank.


Maybe there is another way but this is how I solved mine.

I managed to do the table in a bit different way, but I think yours is better.


I also defined a parameter for length in generic,but I deleted all other default parameters. Then in the table I used the report parameter &asm.mbr.param.value.


The strange thing is that it worked only after I opened and saved each instance separately.

Hello, you can use filters. Please see below.

&fam.inst.param.name == LENGTH

Just make sure that "LENGTH" is part of the dimension properties: Name=Lenght
