Hiding holes in drawing

Hi All,

I've got a weldment assembly with holes. I assembled all the parts, some have holes at the part level, and I've also got holes in the assembly.

I am creating two drawings, one for the weldment only, and one with the hole locations.

Is there a way of hiding the holes on my weldment drawing? Other than suppressing the holes?

Thanks,

you can erase lines from drawing views.

I think the command is under the view drop down menu,
then one of the fly outs has a line display option.

This is where you can erase lines, change the line
style, and so on in drawing views.

So essentially you could erase the lines created by the
holes you want to hide.

Or you could create a simplified rep excluding the holes
you wish to get rid of in that particular view

We do weldments often in our company, therefore we came up with certain rules to suit our manufacturing flow. Assuming that your weldment is not being used in small devices, here is what I would do:
1-create an .asm from components in "raw" state. No features added in assembly level.
2-create a .prt from previous assembly.CopyGeom from another model should be used to copy all surfaces from components. After Solidify add cuts, holes, threads.
3-generate drawings: One drawing- goes to weldment shop - uses the assembly. It shows components/pozition number of welded parts and dimensions for pozitioning only. The second drawing- goes to machining - uses the finished welded part from above with detailed dimensions.
