Hi,

i notice that everytime i select a part on a model or an assembly it hilights the part i am selecting in red color showing it in what looks like wireframe. Is there a way to select a part withouth showing its wireframe effect and just the outline of the part? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the tip. I tried that but it's not exactly what I am looking for. It still shows the hidden lines behind the object. Basically I want to be able to select a part without showing its wireframe.

there's no option for that as far as i know, you can change the selection filter to "geometry" to prevent that kind of highlighting and to be able to select faces and edges directly. but it will change to "smart"by default.

Can you explain how to change the selection filter to "geometry" please?

I don't think he's talking about pre-selection highlighting (in cyan when you hover over a part), he's talking about how it highlights after selection (in red after clicking on it).

I don't think you can change that.

The selection filter is the drop down in the lower right corner in WF4. I think it may have moved to the upper right in WF5.
