importing company logo into drawing file

Hi guys,

I'm trying to import my company logo (.jpg file) and use itin my company title block. Let's say my company logo is a triangle. I want to be able to see the triangle as a line instead of a picture file in the title block. So when i save the drawing file into autocad, i can send it to customers without having to send the jpg file along with it. Am i making any sense to u guys?

thanks

Basically you will need to create the file in ProE as a "Symbol" & have it in your standard Dwg Template file.....basically it is created from lines & hatching...and it isn't associated with the jpeg file at all.

Hope that helps...

You should also be able to INSERT > OBJECT > BITMAP IMAGE > CREATE FROM FILE. This maybe easier, but the file size gets huge. Often redrawing the Logo in Pro has it come out cleaner.

Oh wait. after actually reading your post the guy above is right.

How do i create the file as a symbol in pro e?

You need to convert bitmap to vector file (we use CorelTRACE for that, but there are also other tools). Then you can start to create symbol and import vector file (DXF or other) to Pro/E.

does any of the adobe progarm works??? such as adobe photoshop or illustrator?

what is the file extension of a vector file?

thank you

Alvin, is your logo complicated ? Illustrator would work, you could create outlines of the logo and then insert as a sketch into pro-e, it accepts .ai files.
