iPhone Model: PDF With Dimensions... Help

Ok...
I was looking for someone who had a 3d model of the iPhone, but that's
turned out to be harder than I imagined.

I actually have a very accurate 3d model, with all the dimensions
determined in the model, expect for the corner radii.

http://developer.apple.com/ipod/iPhone-dimensions.pdf

This Apple Developer page contains a PDF of the iPhone Dimensions, but
for the life of me, I cannot identify the corner radii with the dimensions
supplied... Maybe I'm just missing something...

The surface, after testing and measuring using many programs, appears
to be very close to a perfect oval 13mm X 16mm. Of course, the oval is
truncated at the front surface of the iPhone...

Can any geometry wiz assist with correlating my findings, based on the
included dimensions?

It is harder than it looks because the form is a conic which is tangent to the back surface, tangent to the outer profile but not to the front surface. (ie not really rads)

I got a result by sweeping a conic around the outside profile where the conic was usingtwo d1xd2 chamfers as references and the outside profile as well.

what version of pro-e are you using?

Big argument in the design engine office. Are the edges of the iphone products G2 or not. When you add that much gloss paint everything is g2 if you ask me.

Good argument Bart, I was delving more into surfaces today, made quite a complicated model after a lot of tweaking etc, think im gettin better

Anyway... after mirroring the half, there was a groove down the centre... i thought " F**k it, it will come out after powder coating " haha

Here's an image of the first model I've done.

I'm pretty sure it's an ellipse, swept at it's tangent on a trajectory 115.2mm x
60.7mm with the corner radii detailed in the PDF....

hi andy the images are quite dark, in fact a little too dark to see much!

"with the corner radii detailed in the PDF.... " are you taking 10.1 as the corner radius?

the 10.1 dims refer to the boss centre which is very slightlysmaller than the actual corner radius becaus the axis centre lines can be seen above the tangency lines.
