It seems that they are not answering emails or telephone inquiries. I will let you know if they do. Just because it's from Canada doesn't mean it's as good as beer and hockey.

sorry for late reply, I was not available. Dear, I didnt have any personal experiance with scanning. But I listen from them, now Z corp are producing the hand held scanner, they says that there is no need to registering for multiple scanning. just u held scanner in hand and move as you need. But I have no experiance of it too

You might also like to look at other scanning technologies than laser such as photogrametry or white light.

These two sites are good sources for RP and scanning references: www.prototypemagazine.com & www.time-compression.com.

From what I have seen the NextEngine scanner provides fairly low quality data at a fairly loose accuracy (too loose for my own needs at least - I guess you are getting what you pay for).

At the high-end you can look at solution from www.imetric.com, www.gom.com, www.breuckmann.com, www.steinbichler.de, www.faro.com, etc.

Geomagic has a fairly complete list of 3D scanner makers available at www.geomagic.com/support/resources/

Hi Zaki,

yeah, I'm looking in to the Zcorp one alright, I hear it's similar to the handy scan, I sent one of our models over to a reseller in London last week and I must say I was NOT impressed with the scan quality from the handy scan - maybe ut was user error?I dunno..

Dacct,

Thanks for the info! I look forward to reading all about it tomorrow at work!

Cheers,

James

The Leica is a very good instrument at ranges over 0.5M
I have a 3000 and am looking for business.
But seriously, there are, as you all know, no shortcuts.
The Best Scanners are, as all of us are, competing for the same best dollar.
