Linking feature dimms to notes

Is it possible to create a note on a drawing, and have that note call up feature dimensions / use parameters to call up feature dimensions?

The reason I ask is:
I have counterbored holes on a part, and usually when doing the drawing I'll dimension the bore

If you show the dimensions & parameters on the drawing and have the config option switch_dims_for_notes yes set then when you create a note the dimensions & parameters will "switch dims" to show their symbolic value. This makes it easy to embed them in notes. Just type &d### or &p### as they show on the screen. You can also edit any dimension & see it's symbolic value. It's what shows up in the dimension name box.

It works fine when I create a note and insert &###, but doesn't play along so nice when I just put &### into the dimensions' properties.

With the example of the counterbore - there is just a top view of the part, like this:

In order to get the depth dimm for the counter-bore, I have to project a view and dimension the depth. But I don't want additional views - just a top view. When I delete the other view then my dimension in the note (the &### one) does not update.

Also, if I delete the projected view, the &### I got from it is lost. Another person opening my drawing won't know where I got the &### value from. The &### value is meaningless unless that projected view and the counter-bores' dimension stays on the sheet.

Its not as if I need this regularly - I just figured an assy> part > feature dimm could be called up in a drawing note.

Got it sorted. If I edit the counter-bore feature while in Assembly view, then Switch Dimms - I can see a value something like D##:#

Then, when creating a note in the drawing, just put &D##:#

Bad habit...asking questions before trying to figure it out. Thanks for your help.
