math operation in drawing

livium

New member
Hi,

Ineed to make some math operation(add / substract) withdimensions and the result to be put as note and to be associative.

Do you have any idea?

Thanks in advance,
Liviu

Thanks.

The main problem is how I bring the value of dimension into relation?

The dimension is created only in drawing and I can't make it parameter.

Nice WK.

From drawing go to tools / relations and write a relation containing the two dimensions like:

param=ad265+ad267

then create a note and show &param

Thanks Vlad.

I find a solution to have adxxx, instead of addxxx dimension.

Hello

I would like to do the same but in an empty format (.frm) how can i create relations without any model?. Im trying to create a table with two columns, the first one with some information in mm and the other one is supossed to be the same but in inches, any ideas?

This technique will allow conversion from inches to mm in a repeat region, maybe it will help you...

1. Create a Repeat Region for family table Part without using 2D Repeat Region.

2. Add a Repeat Region relation for the required columns to show the
dual dimension by selecting # Table > Repeat Region >
Relations> #Select the Region >Add and add the relation as below.

If fam_inst_param_value<>0

convert=fam_inst_param_value*25.4

Endif

(In the above relation 25.4 is an conversation factor to convert the dimension from inches to mm)

3. Select the cell for which Repeat Region is defined, # RMB>
Properties, in the Note Properties window, add
(&rpt.rel.convert[.#]) below the &fam.inst.param.value

&rpt.rel.<parameter name> [.#], # - specifies the number of decimal places to be displayed for the parameter.

4. Update the table to show dual dimension.

The drawing format is not the place to put that type of information.
