Mcadcentral vs MOzilla firefox

i love this forum and use mozilla firefox as my web-browser but.

in the past month or so ive notice my cpu usage is very high mozilla seems to not like mcad central after having mcadcentral open for a hour or so cpu usage goes from like 3% to 90%.

Anyone else have this problem? maybe is a plugin or something flash? maybe? but its very very annoying.

I'm expiriencing similar problems with IE. It's really slow, so when I type a message, it's like using mobile SMS function.

I use FireFox as well. I have notice that it runs wild and
comsumes a lot of cpu time from time to time. Happens on most web
sites, not just mcad central. Can jump up to 50-70%.

Typing this message seems OK. Just wish I had spell check with Firefox



I am using version 1.0.6 on a windows XP machine with a 3.0Ghz cpu.

I use Firefox, have not had a problem but I don't keep it open for hours at a time. I also block popups and don't load any of the plugins. It warns me all the time that I'm missing plugins for stupid bandwidth wasting animations, etc. but that's better than waiting for all the cr@p to download over our pitiful connection.

dr_gallup is probably right. I have loaded some of the Firefox
extensions. Like Foxweather, Autofill, ShowIP, Tab options,
etc....

I do have pop-up blocker runiing and it does a great job.



Yesterday I noticed that Firefox was using some cpu time aand today it
is all the way down.. Same browser window. Go figure.
Could also be the auto update settings....

The bugs are not in Firefox or IE but I thought in the mcadcentral website. I open 5 windows surfing mcadcentral and it's extremely slow,nearly 90%cpu usage. But Another way, I can open20 windows for other websites, and I works fine.

ehhe glad i am not alone in my suffering

yeah NDK is right, having 1 tab of mCad. is fine, once u start making lots it gets v.sluggish.

surfing other stuff, i had HEAPS of tab's open to no massive cpu drain.

sucks cos i love checking active topics.. and making each one pop up into a seperate tab

makes reading them so much easier and leaves the desktop less cluttered.

If you are using FireFox I also recommend also using the Java Script
blocker to selectively block which associate sites you allow to run
Java.



I always run multiple tabs and windows and have never had a noticeable
problem with excessive CPU usage on this site but while I sometimes stay
for quite a long time I would not call it hours.



One bug I have found is that I could not upload pictures successfully with FireFox.
