I can see the sense of using the data management system to do
the hard work, but one of my reservations is in using a code for the name is
the difficulty in editing the Pro/E model. I try and explicitly name features
for this very reason, and changing the names of parts from
"Aileron_foam_core" to "20061106A" or whatever, will be as
meaningless to me as "Extude_4". I could add an extra Model Tree
column, but like to have as much graphics area as possible. Does anyone find
this a problem?
The other difficulty is in finding the parts when adding to the assembly. Would
a PDM program sort this one?
