Newb Needs help with printing dimensions

Hello, I am new to Pro engineer and I would greatly appreciate help with the following problem.

I work in a wielding shop and i have just designed a trailer in pro E, my problem is i need to print the design and give it to the wielders to construct. except i do not know how to print the image with the appropriate dimensions on it. I can't even figure out how to put any dimensions on the drawing.

Any help would be great
Thanks

there are a couple ways to drop dimensions into your drawing. First a couple questions. Are you in a drawing with an assembly (weldment) or are you with a Pro/E part in the drawing?

If its the latter: Left click on your drawing view and right hold down to show dimensions. This can be overwhelming if you have a complex part. So I usually teach the newbies to place the part into insert mode ...switch over to the drawing then do the same. That way the dimension are not so overwhelming. Then show each feature one at a time in your drawing. That way you can consider each dimension that you used to create the part. Click on each dimension and move it around ... or erase it. Lots of stuff in that right menu for you to mess with.

If you are in an assembly drawing I suggest only putting overall dimensions in your drawing. Insert, Dimension, New Reference to create your overall dims.

You can also create dimensions like this in your piece part drawings too.

Thank you so much, I have been suffering for a week now trying to figure out how to do that.
The drawing is in assembly i believe. I drew it just like I would build it. I made all the appropriate pieces then assembled them together. I will try what you say on Monday when i get back to work.

That helped a lot. I am now fighting with trying to get the right dimensions in the drawing. the section giving me trouble is, if you imagine a right angle triangle made of 2" square tubing. I can get dimensions on the hypotenuse and the adjacent. but the vertical tube is angled at the top, where the hypotenuse starts and pro E will not let me give it a dimension. it just continually gives me the angle between the adjacent (horizontal) and hypotenuse.

Am I correct in assuming that if I am working with an assembly drawing the only information pro E know is how the parts relate to each other and I need to dimension all the individual parts separately?

Thanks for your help

To get the dim you are looking for you need to pick the adjacent line then switch the dimension pick type to "intersect" and then pick the hypotenuse hold down the ctrl key and pick the vertical wall. Then just place the dimension. Sometimes it will ask you to choose the dim type (vert., Hor., angled etc...) so always read your prompts.

You can also show all part dimension in assembly drawings. Show/Erase dialog has many filters such as by part/view. Select a part in a view and all dimensions visible in that view will show up. Can be overwhelming for complicated parts. I mostly use feature/view for more control.
