patteren along curve

hi,

i am trying to patteren along a curve.for that i created a curve,and a
point on it.an axis passing trough that point and tangent to curve,and
then created a plane trough the point and normal to axis,



now i grouped that point,axis and dtm1,and patterened it.



now i created a feature by giving thease three (pt.axis,dtm1) ,and when i am patterening it i am goinr to resolve mode

Trying to pattern Sketch2 fails. The problem appears to be your use of Right datum plane as a sketcher reference (what happens to it as the pattern follows the curve around?).

Redefine the sketch so Top datum plane is the top reference (good for any pattern instance).

Then group the sketch and revolve feature (since it's an external sketch) and pattern the group.

If you can't get it sorted out I can post the file (WF2).

(Know I've read how to tell what version Pro/E a file was created in, but can't remember. Anyone have an answer or link to one?)

Addendum: You know, btw, that you don't need the axis to define the plane normal to curve?

do a equation like below to get a even spread of ur parts.

d54 = 1/(p55)

only pattern the reference to the point. ie should be 0.00 or something ..



dtm1 is through the point through curve

dtm2 is though point normal to that other datum

for something like that you could just use a axial pattern. 3d curves are much more fun.

no plane is selecting to sketch
