Printing Drawing to PDF!! Lineweights

I searched the other answers on this topic but still have no fix.

When usingView attachment 4388"save object in active window to PDF file" I get heavier line weights then when just using the print function. I like using this pdf save object button because when combined withView attachment 4389"refit object to fully display it on the screen" it has a very uniform and centered look. And is alot quicker then having to go through all the print menus. The real issues ends up being the hidden lines in my drawing. If there is alot of them in close proximety they tend to be confusing due to the bad lineweight.

Thanks,
Matt

I had the same issue. I updated my config.pro to use a pen table and set the pen talbe location as well. Here are my pen table settings:

pen 1 thickness 0.005 in

pen 2 thickness 0.002 in

pen 3 thickness 0.001 in

In Wildfire 3, set pdf_use_pentable to yes in config.pro

I don't find such an option in my wf3 config at all. I guess its because of the build code. Mine is F000. Could you pls post what build code you are using?

Also, could someone please post a pen plot table that you use? I have one with letter_color, drawing_color etc., I just want to compare and may be pickout a best setting for our company uses.

Sorry, please ignore my above request for a pnt file. I did a simple search and came up with a few. Thanks!

If you can't find the option in your config.pro, that means that when the config.pro was created, the line was not added. Select "Tools"; "options" then do a find at the bottom of the options window for pdf and you will find the option "pdf_pen_table". Select the option and then set the value to "yes" then select "add/change" and "close". Now make sure that the full path to the pen table file "pen_table_file" is correct and that the pen table is named correctly. When you are done modifying the config file, select "OK". You should be good to go. Keep in mind that if you are using custom colors, the pen table will not work correctly! If you are, prior to printing change your View; Display Settings; System Colors; scheme to default.

I already did a search with 'Find' and it did not come up with any..Like I said before this could be something to do with the build code, I suppose.

On the same note, Is there a way to set the font that it uses also? I have drawings that have tables on them. When I use the Pdf creator ,it uses a different font than the one I have on the drawing and then the infomation is larger than the cell it's in.

Be sure to check "stroke all fonts" instead of the true type fonts. It is a really frustrating interface because you can not set up defaults. Best to make a maykey that makes all the correct settings, otherwise you are going to have a lot of bad PDF's.

In addition to the problems discussed in this thread, I pose another question.

Our PDF files come out with a line missing here and a line missing there. I wrote a spec note in the drawing yesterday and it came out unjustified when in pro it was justified left.. the lines came out randomly tabbed.

Is this a config problem?

There is a general lack of quality in the PDF's generated by the Pro-E PDF command...

using WF 2 to design, WF 3 to plot only because the IS guys are still evaluating bugs.

Since you guys are in touch with some of the config funk, any suggestions?
