Printing From Sketcher... HELP

GEAR_HEAD

New member
I'm attempting to print something in Sketcher Mode but can't figure out how to hide to dimensions so that they don't print. I went into config and changed skether_disp_dimensions but this only changed the display and not what it prints out. I tried to change the color but still they still printed. Anyone have some ideas? Thanks

Matt

Dr Gallup,

Thanks for the suggestion. I set the intent manager to "no" and deleted the dimensions away, but now it prints the weak dimensions. (There are about 200 dimensions)

I'm drawing a Plant Layout of our Machine Shop. I measured all the machines and their locations and put them into Sketcher. With the all the dimensions printing out its a mess. Any ideas?

Matt

The sketches are not in a part or assy file? That would be where I'd start and then just print from there or from a drw. The Sketcher environment is very purpose oriented, not intended for 'general' drafting use.

... mmmm, that doesn't seem to convey the intended thought which was; it's not intended to be a substitute for DWG. (?) Maybe that don't do it either, but hope you get my drift.

... There's also a Sketcher option to hide Weak Dims if you wanna try that.

What release? With intent manager off in WF2 I'm not getting any weak dims.

Agreed sketcher is not a good environment for what you are doing. Hate to say it but AutoMAD or other 2D package is a lot better.

You could extrude your sketch into a part & print that or just create a datum curve from your sketch & print it.

I am sketching everything on one sketch. I know Pro/E isn't the best software to do basic sketches but its the only software we have. AutoCad would be much much easier, but that's not an option. I'm using WF3 release M040. In Sketcher the weak Dimensions are not shown with the intent manager off, but are showing up on the print. I think I will give up and just extrude everything and bring it into a drawing. I thought if I could just turn off the dimensions and print for sketcher it was be a lot faster.

Thanks for the ideas.
