1. How to use the "wrap feature"?

2. After wrap feature createdby modeling, isitallow show a wrapage shape on the drawing?

Hi seewoei

Your question is not clear, since you have wrote the "Wrap feature", but i think so you actually want to ask about "Warp feature".

any way I am describing both of these

1) "Warp feature" is available in Edit Menu

2) "Wrap feature" is available in InsertMenu

for the 1st One

Insert>Warp>Preference>Select Geometry> Select Direction

then all of the functionality will be highlighted now you make your part, twisted, strech, or bend.

and the Warp shap also display in the drawing.

For the 2nd ONE

"Wrap features"

let say you have drawn the cylinderical part and sketch a straight line, now you want to Warp this around the cylinder, from

Edit Menu> Warp

select the curve you want to warp and select the boundry on which you want to warp this.

I hope there will be no problem for you to do this.

Any thing else feel free to write me

Actually ur question is not clear, WF has both features wrap and warp , wrap is using to wrap a curve around any cylender etc, and warp is to warp any shape,

u post ur question in wrong forum, please move it to modeling. then u will be replied how to use both

Dear all,

I'm so sorryto make you confused!

Actually I want to ask about "Warp" feature after created by modeling, is it warp shape and original shape allow showtogether on thedrawing?

Like attach figure.

Thanks for your help!

I don't think warp hold the original geometry. So material thickness would not be correct or mass might change.

you can use a family table to have to different reps of the same part. i

f it

Hi pmack009,

Actually I never use family table, do you have any guideline to use family table?

If the part meterial is metal, I can use sheetmetal, but if that is plastic part, how can I do it?

Thanks for you help!

Hi

Family table are more suitable when you are handling with a number of components, but if you are dealing with a single part then you can copy the part withs some othere name, and add the model in the drawing envoironment.

Then you will be able to show the both of the part i.e befor warp and after warp

if still you want, how to use the family table, i will send you the complete process later on

Hi sohail abbas,

Thanks for your explanation, I really want the guideline to use family table, thank you!

i have prepared a video tutorial, for you but that is of about 7MB, give me your email, then i will send this video to you.

Warp is really justfor concept work I don't think it would be considered parametric. Just something to keep in mind. I think you would be better of with family tables then two models one less part to loss and if you update one how will the other update with it.

No dear pmackWarp is not for just concept work. the basic purpose of including this feature is to deal with Non-Native data.

As you import some part which is non-native and you want to make some changes, like draft or stretch. Due to this feature you can easily deal with the part.
