Removing model associativity in Drawing

New member
Dear all,

I have to get rid of one model among many others the drawing represents..

This model is used for some views in the drawing, so when i go to properties->drawing model-> delete model..

the mesage says that it cannot delete as it is used in some views.

So how do I replace the model the view uses?

The parts(models) are similar.

Thanks in advance

Views > Modify View > Snapshot > Select views.

You can delete the model when there are no more views using the model.

BTW, I'm on 2001

Thanks Charles,

Views > Modify View > Snapshot > Select views.

Iam in WF 2.0, and I used menu mapper to find out the equivalent, that is "properties", but in that there is no "snap shot".

Thanks

This will not give me result as I want the views to exist , not merely as draft entities,

Can I again convert back to "view" from draft entity?

I want to "replace" the model X01 used in one of the views by model X02.Then afterwards I can delete model X01 from the drawing models,

Thus I can break up the associativity of X01 with the drawing.

Thanks

You can only replace model X01 in a drawing with model X02 if they are family table members. This will automatically change the drawing views and X01 will no longer be a model in the drawing.

Hi,

It isn't in family table, so it is not replaced automatically when i do a det model from drawing properties.

They are 2 different parts X01 and X02, and they are both shown in the drawing in different sheets and views.

how can I remove the X01 from the drawing ? or how can i replace the driving model in one particular view from X01 to X02. Both are .ASM

Iam in WF 2.0

Please advise

In Wildfire "File > Properties > Drawing Models > Replace and choose another model to replace the one you want to delete. You must have the other model added to the drawing, also found under "Drawing Models" in order to replace. Be sure to delete the replaced model from your drawing, also found under "Drawing Models".
