repeat region

Can anyone tell me the syntax for showing the stock parameter named 'description' from a part to show up appropriately in my assembly drawing using Repeat Region.

Thanks Anyway
*******
I figured it out....
ITEM NO: REPORT INDEX
QTY: REPORT QTY
PART NO: ASSY MEMB NAME
DESC: ASSY MEMBER PARAMETER VALUE

************************************************

Can anyone tell me Why I can't set a BOM Baloon Region in a Table?
I can click on Set Region and the BOM type but after that all the other selections remain grayed out except Done and nothing seems to happen.

Bart doesn't know....

Ok... we did it. But I still struggle to grab the parameter value of a part and show that correctly in the BOM

Ill first change the part number referenced in the assembly so it updates in the table. My question is how to add a fifth column for the 'part description' from the default parameter in my part. When I do it the thing references all the parameters and I only want the one for description. Which I did for the next image here.

What the F*ck.... why is the region counting an extra item number? The part number changed when I renamed it and added the fifth column DESCRIPTION: ASSY MEMBER PARAMETER VALUE

It must be an Attribute

Ok... I figured it out.

DESCRIPTION: ASSY MEMBER "USER DEFINED" and type in 'description'

I feel like i am having a conversation with myself....

I am figuring it all out tho.Next question.

1. How do i handle the user defined 'description' when family tables are involved?

2. and with respect to balloons... how do I get a BOM Balloon to point to two parts in an exploded view?

For your 'description' parameter add it to the family table. I'm not sure you can have a single BOM ballon pointto two parts that are the same, at least I've never seen it. I've always seen ProE add a ballon for each item.

I did modify the parameter to one family table... in my case a lego piece called lego01.prt it's instances are lego01_2x2 or lego01_2x4.prt consecutively. But when I add the the parameter to one instance 2x2 for example that f*cker shows up 2x2 already in the 2x4 instance. Crapola!

Can you post a picture of what you have? You should be able to change the value in the description column and verify the changes. Here are some pictures for reference. First is a family table for the generic and second a drawing of the pats in an assembly with a repeat region.

I will figure this out if it kills me.Next i have repeat BOM for Pro/CABLE ...

I added a parameter in one family table and the same parameter showed up in a brother part. Ill play with it again tonight....

You can do it to when you create a balloon. "edit attachment' lets you 'add ref' but the BOM balloons won't let you 'add ref'.
