Repeat Regions

I've created a table with with the following report symbols:


rpt.index asm.mbr.name rpt.qty


(right out of the help files)


My problem is that items with quantities greater than 1 don't roll up on to one line. Each item shows on an individual line. Also, my quantity fields are empty. Any help?

I wonder if most companies will use a template drawing for automaticly creating BOM.



Well I guess most companies dont use repete regions in the first place but for the ones that do...

See I got your problem, For that I found solution, when you create table I will guide you just do like this or else I will upload some table files just call those files.ok


Go to table select repeat region in that select attributes, click attribute,when you click attribute commond it will ask you to click on table just click on your existing table,ones you click table option will be changed you will get one more drop down menu that is called REGION ATTR, inthat just select NO DUPLICATES.


I hope your problem will alsr else I made some table readly available there is no need to do all these things just retrive that table you will recive alll formats autometically.ok

We use automated BOMs on our assembly drawing template. It makes life so easy. Just create a drawing, pick the template and there's your BOM.We used to type separate BOMs in Word.This automatedBOM takes away any chance of typo errors, quantity errors, etc.Also forces the users to name parts and assembly correctly.No more bracket_mounting_1.....

We use drawing formats with included repeat region tables. This way you create the drawing by choosin drawing format and BOM is created automatically. When there's no need to have BOM on the drawing, you just delete the repeat region.

I have about 30 tables saved in the library with specific combinations of flat/recursive, extracted parameters/dimensions in columns, applied filters and sort regions for extracting all sorts of information out of the 2,000 component assemblies I make.

As an example one recursive table called gears.tbl extracts and lists all the gears along with the bore size, key dimensions, thickness, module, number of teeth, OD and PCD (because we sometimes stretch them). I can get enough information displayed in the table to drastically reduce the requirement for individual drawings.

Another saved table is used for extracting steel sections to create a cutting list. Like sections are grouped together in order of decreasing length to encourage the apprentices to cut the long lengths first.

The possibilities are limitless. Once you have set up a table to do someting specific or unusual save it for easy retrieval.
