Show Centre Mark for groove on OD

Thanks for clarifying that mstout.

And thanks again to all who helped out. Looks like I've got a few approaches to use now. Might use different ones depending on the situation. Simple parts can handle the extra axes without getting too cluttered, for example.

MSTOUT had a great idea.

Make one sketch with multiple Shallow holes.

Then make one revolve. In your revolve sketch, use the "concentric" feature so all your grooves are associative to the hole sketch.

In your drawing just "show" dimensions and axis.

If you need to change groove depth/location/size, just modify the hole sketch.

Best regards,

Dan

Dan,

Glad you like my approach. I prefer to use internal sketches in my models but this is an application that lends itself to an external sketch. My explanation is really from an after though to add the centers in the drawing after the model is created, but if youplan ahead to what is needed for the drawing, the external sketch is the way to go.
