snapshots and views

I have a little issue that I'm trying to figure out, but I can't seem
to find the correct options to do what I want. I have a snapshot view
that I have created to act as sort of a background for the exploded
model view I'm trying to create. On top of this background I have
created the exploded view, but I have one little problem. All the lines
from the background are "bleeding" through the exploded view above it.
In otherwords, the lines in the background that should be hidden by the
view on top of it are showing up. Does anyone know how to fix this?

AFAIK both views are lines only and so there's no filled area in the space enclosed by the lines. And if the "body" of the parts in your exploded view does not exist in drawing there's also no way that the background could be hidden.

Creating the image as a rendering is the only way I can imagine now in ProE to move towards the result you intend. Shaded isometric views (on top of the snapshot view) would be the other option, but that's WF3, as far as I'm informed. Even then, there could be a problem. The other CAD I use has shaded views in draft but I've noticed when printing that these shaded views also have a white background within the view limits. In your case this would erase the background below the view. Don't know what the WF3 behaviour would be though.

Why did you snapshot the view? If you want hidden line removal, etc you need to keep the view active. With all the options available in drawing view display you should be able to achieve whatever you want. Try things like member display/phantom transparent.

Hi,

I suppose if you modify the lines style of snapshot and set it to hidden and use a grey color. Thats the way i have used couple of times and it works for me.
