Things I want to exclude from the print

Ouch, just made this post, but an error when posting made me write it all again, doh!

Anyhoo... yes, when printing I want the user to be able to put comments and such on the drawing that won't get printed or published, engineering type comments and such.

How do I achieve this? Layers are to messy and hidden things just show up on the print regardless of hiding it, and there seems to be no penmapping availible that avoids the printing all together, or is there?

Best regards

You can create a markup of the drawing, notes added to that are not part of the drawing but of the markup. Select File, New and choose Markup. Then select the drawing to open in the markup.

Never tried something like that but layers should work just fine with drawings.

Put notes on the drawing, then go to layers, create a layer say "do_no_print", then right click it and properties, put all the notes you don't want to show in that layer, then hide the layer, save status and your done.

Or if you don't like layers you can do like Peter said.
