Two sates of same instance on drawing

I am working in sheetmetal and we have to provide a DXF for production. With wood parts I create a drawing with its first sheet set up to be released as a DXF and the second sheet to be released as the standard drawing.


I want to create something similar with my sheetmetal parts. The problem with sheetmetal is that my DXF has to be the flat pattern but my standard drawing cannot be. Is there a way to create two states of the same instance on the same drawing? Page 1 would have flat pattern and page 2 will contain the bends.

Very much possible.


Create a Flat state.. Edit --> Setup -->


Include the "Flat state model" in the drawing.


Now you can have them in which ever sheet you need and take out a Dxf.

The model I amhoping to add thisto has the purpose of being duplicated/savea copy and keeping the generic untouched in the end.


With the "flat statemodel" created,it acts as an instance. Does this have to be renamed every time the model is renamed? I am hoping that it will not have to be renamed. I would like something that acts more like a flexible feature, but smart enough to be able to be different depending on drawing page.

I use the view manager, create a new rep called "flat view"in the part file to exclude "bend back" instance and then in the drawing reference the "flat view" rep. You can use the "master" rep to show the formed view on a different sheet. This way any changes made to the sheetmetal part are updated in both reps.

I have created a "flat view" rep that does what I am looking for in the model.


In the drawing it does not allow me to or I dont know how to change from "master rep" to the newly created rep.

While in drawing, right mouse click,select "properties", select "drawing models", select "set/add rep" then select your "flat view" rep. Then create your drawing as you normally do.
