Here is the tutorial I mentioned. I followed this to a T, but I cannot get my swept section to follow the chain trajectory. 2009-05-08_085334_Tutorial.zip

Make sure you are referencing the trajectory either by a dimension or by a constraint.

James, how do you get the origin to orient the way it does in your variable sweep? Mine points normal to the curve and up as opposed to your's where one vector points normal to the curve and the other toward the right. I think this is why my sweep does not happen the way it should.

Yes, I followed your example, and my references match what you have.

Not only does my origin not orient like your's, but when I choose the edge for my chain, I have to click each segment of the edge, holding down the shift key; where I see see you only had to click one segment to highlight the remainder of the edge segments.

Is the Origin Path the Intersect Curve? Before you select the Origin Curve hover over the intersect curve and right mouse button (RMB) on it till the entire curve is highlighted then left mouse Button (LMB). If the arrows start on the opposite end of the chain you can LMB the arrow and it will switch. After you have selected the Origin curve then then hover over the edge of desired Chain One and CTRL LMB. A single segment may be selected. Hold down SHIFT and RMB until all of Chain 1 is highlighted and LMB. Notice as you right click different selections will be noted in the Status bar (Tangent, Surface Loop, Surface Loop From To).

You can also select the Intersect curve in the Feature Tree and when it is highlighted click on the VSS button.

BTW, another issue I have is that my RMB menu does not pop up when I right click a selection. Is there a setting for that?

There is so much to the VSS tool!

I do a three hour VSS workshop. Each month I learn something new to add to that workshop.It never quits!

This is one of the big differentiator to the solidworks tool.
