WF3 BOM Balloon attachment

splat10

New member
just upgraded to WF3 and the detailing is giving me a headache. I can't adit attachment ofBOM table driven balloons that refer to assemblies. I can edit ones for comonents just fine but assemblies won't budge. grr frustrating. I guess i'll fudge em for now.

Any ideas?

here's what I've found (WF2.0 M210):

BOM: Flat, No Duplicates -> Can only constrain attachment points, thru edit attachment of subassy BOM balloons, to subassy level features (csys for eg).

Workaround 1: Change BOM attribute to recursive; edit attachment of subassy balloons to desired location; change BOM attributeback to flat.

Workaround 2: Create datum point in subassy model on desired location; edit attachment of balloon to this datum point. (I like this less than 1, but hey?)

Summary: Looks as though subassy BOM balloon attachment can only be edited for recursive BOMs. Still looking for a permanent solution.

I hope this helps, and if anyone has a solution (I'm thinking/hoping dtl or BOM attribute; this is where I'm looking at present) please post.

it was a build bug. problem fixed/not presentin WF2 M220.

the same may be said for WF3 - don't know as I haven't checked. have

a look at the build code splat and see if a newer release is available.
