What is the best way of modelling text ?

I agree with Shaoxiao. I use the same method to make our company's logos. Another thing I've seen is simply have the logo sketch in sketcher and saved for later use. However, this sketched logo often looks very messy... too many dimensions on it.

Oh, talking about China... I'm gonna go to Shanghai to work there!

, well at least, that's my intention.. :)

I agree that shaoxiao`s method is a good way of doing it, but for I me often design logo`s and parts for lots of different companies so they often request thier logo`s on parts. When I first posted this question, I was very new to pro-e and I have learnt a lot since then. If I struggle with any logo`s or text in future I know the method I used with Illustrator and importing works so I am safe

I presume you would work for an american or UK company whilst in Shanghai as the salary`s are very different hehe. An excellent experience and quite an eye-opener to how other worlds work, China is so different to any other country I have visited, but you can really see how fast they are progressing.

An interesting debate isnt it, amazing to think there are 111 million internet users, lol almost double population of UK.

I know when I was in China, there were various websites that I couldn`t visit ( No not that type you perverts

) one of them being bbc news website, I was in China for 2 months working and wanted bbc website everyday to keep up with local news. God knows what else the government has decided to put a bann on in China.

Hi Wasim,

Well if you go back to the very first post on this thread, that image is of a part of a wall bracket for a flat screen tv, the company wanted thier logo putting onto the piece ( UNICOL OXFORD ).The render is not very clear as the text only stands up .5mm. My problem with text was that the logo had to be exactly the same size, shape, the same text font, the rectangle around the text had to be the exact size etc... so I could not figure out the best way of making sure all of that was correct in pro-e.

I ended up using a program called Adobe Illustrator. A very good program but tricky touse if your unfamiliar with it. I chose that program because I have used it before, and I know that Pro-e WF2 accepts Illustrator files. This way I can create the logo in illustrator to the correct scales and then import into pro-e. It was my first and only attempt at text in pro-e so far, and it worked ok so I was happy.

I was just wondering what other ways people have to importing, or creating the logos and text in pro-e, most of the time logos and text have to be exact otherwise they become unrecognisable.

How do you create your logo`s and text etc ? Do youcreate completly in pro-e or do you import sketches ?

I will have another go at a complicated logo later that I have to do, and post a simple render.
