Hey all,

Does anyone know if you can create a mapkey to run a VB.net program. The reason I ask is because Vb.net will not run i sychronist mode, whick basically means that you can't create a button in proe to run a program(because of difficulties with compatibility with sun and windows.) If you are able to get around that by using a mapkey, then that would solve my problem. Has anyone ever tested this?

Omar

Thanks Leow for explainin in details about Wildfire 4 enhancements.

It really depends what you need to do with ProE. What happens when you are on WF4, and you need to do something specific and then you happen to find out that there is a bug preventing you from doing what you wanted. You could try to find another way, but what if their isn't.

Are you good depend on Tech Support to write an SPR.

Good Luck. Those guys couldn't write an spr if thier mother's life depended on it. Tech Supportmotto is"That is how it is suppose to work!".

dr_gallup has the right idea...That is exactly what we are going to do!! Has anyone ever made the jump to a new release of WF? If so, how many problems did you have. I'm just interested to find out!

Omar

I jumped from WF2 to wf3 about 1 month after wf3`s release, this decision was made as I had good reassurance from my reseller that wf3 is 99% OK... touch wood, no problems so far :)

Not sure about wf4, i will approach it the same way though, I know my reseller tries and tests as much as possible before they recommend upgrading.

Standard foundation package ( with no isdx ). I feel I can live without isdx by using normal surfacing and boundary blends etc ( I removed the maintenence package for isdx when i changed from wf2 - wf3 ).

Dont realy delve deep enough to comment on bugs that may effect any of the analysis options though !

Like i said above, i wont recommend or change myself to an upgraded WF unless im re-assured that its 99% ok. Pro-e is "moody" enough as it is when working 100%

My question is that how do you know that it is 99% ok. After all PTC relies on user to report the bugs? Then you find a but an the Tech support states the everso famous line - - " that is how it is suppose to work"
