assembly view with cutout

Hi All,

How do I create an assembly view with a cut out of the housing to show some of the internal parts? I don't want to hide the entire housing.

WF 3.0

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You could make a suitable cut in the part and suppress it, then use a family part to resume it and assemble, then use simp rep for the assembly drawing.

I need to do that sort of thing all the time. The way I do it is make an assembly cut and then only allow it to intersect the item you would like to see behind.

Thanks Everyone for the reply. I was hoping I had missed an easy way to do in drawing with a spline to define the cut out. I ended up using simp reps to do it.
