Ok here's my dilemma:
I have a repeat region BOM table. Where the quantity is reported, I have 5 separate colums, for different versions of the assemblies, which we call "groups". I take care of those columns by way of a family table, and can control the QTY column in my repeat region easily by using "Column Model/Rep". Normally, however, there is only one version of the assembly to start with, so only one column is filled out. I have strict numbering requirements so I use the fix index option to allow me to assign any number I want to any component of the assembly. So I renumber all my components, the table re-orders them numerically, life is great. Now down the road sometime I need to add a group. So in the next open QTY column, I enter in the top cell "&rpt.qty", and set my "Column Model/Rep" to be the next instance of the family table assembly, then I update the table, and the QTY automatically populates itself. But UT OH! My index numbers have all gone away, and started back at 1,2,3,4 and not what I fixed them to.
Has anyone seen this and can you help???
