I have uploaded a tire assembly ,using toroidal bend, in the files section of this forum. You can download it and study it.

Any easy way to make a wheel is to do a revolve of the profile of the wheel. Next, cut out the spokes. AFter you have yourbasic shape, start doing some detail cuts and rounds, put your lug holes in and your done. That is the basic way to make a wheel and very effective. You can add surfacing for a more unique design. I used a little bit of both on the Belair wheel.

While we are at it, can someone tell me how to model a door knob? I am joking! This forum should not be for teaching people how to do their jobs. Ok, maybe some people are working from home. My problem here is that the question is way too general. Requests for help should be more specific about creating a particular feature or shape. Asking the forum how to create a Mag Wheel is a really open ended question.

Seems funny to me that the guy that has only posted 5 times is the only guy that is bothered by something on this site.

And yes, I realize that my post count is low!

hi there ,

i have been following the thread from as son as it started., but since b'cos i didnt have anything to contribute so didnt post anything.

but even revolving the & then cutting the spokes is not a bad idea.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Skwasim, that is some nice work!! Did you sweep those spokes, or are they just based on cuts? Keep up the great work!

hii

i have posted some pics believe me this is the first time i have achieved rendering of this qaulity plz do comment how can i make this thing look more better

The wheel looks real good. This seems to be a studio clay rendering so there isnt much to do for improvements. I would like to see you do a studio render with som textures placed on your tire and wheel. Setup a scenery wtihout using the default room. You should see a big improvement in the render.

Gentlemen,

I have found the cad quest books by Steve Smith to bevery helpful in self teaching. The Interactive Surface Design book has an excellent example of making a "mag" type wheel.
