Oh my god, I do it work !

Thanks everyone !

I regconize many things after finishing this work.

Tomakeany geometry is pattered and bendedalong a curve, seemto beproblem of constraints. So, while some onefocuson the constraints Puppet solve this problem by using VSS. That really make a quick result than other ways !

I 'll continue tryingother ways...

But to day, i 'm verry happy ! Thanks all

well that's what's confusing me , on the first part...the radius

the spice weasel made sense. I did one ... without the relations and used evalgraph.. just varieddepth to test it out.

my brain isn't getting the radius on both ends of the slotted part as part of the vss I see getting the slot but not the rads.... oh course it didn't get the "Trim At" either.. till just now

oh wait.
depends on which radius your talking about.
on all but the last picture i just did a radius then pattern after the slot was done.

on the last one. if your talking about the way the slot curves around its due to the Vss

sorry for the confusion

okay, well going back to the first part, I found that you can control the radius with evalgraph.... you have to have a slight offset .001 above your y axis because it will not create a zero width rectangle... then it's just graph2 rads with a line btwn andthen sd? = evalgraph("graph_name",trajpar*x_len)

why not do the rounds after the slots

no particular reason, I guess when I saw it at first , I thought they were part of the vss... and who knows where the round icon is going to be in the next rev..

nice thing is you can change the slot profile pretty easy with a graph change.

I guess this is the Chevy boomerang

Hi friends !

After using VSS combined with evalgraph, I have a feeling like we 're woking on a programming lagguage. And the result is nothing to say more, Wonderful !Which i have never thought the days before

I might spend allthis morning to do what wsylvester say.Itprobably 's not easy!

2007-10-04_094252_prt0034.prt.rarwhen i try to patern the VSS>>>> and error??

I try with 2 datum points (in the same future) atthe beginning but I'm notable to do the patern ??

Please can any one upload his/her model because I lost a lot of time on this one !!

OK here are some pictures and I just want to know what I'm doing wrong:

On the first picture the two datum points are put on the linewith one comand and the patern after that is all wrong??

then Iput the two pointsone after the other, group the two points and then hitpatern, it came out nice but only the first point ???

the patern of the second point stayed on the second point??

PLEASE HELP ME!!

A more detailed procedure....

Let us consider the length of the curve as 1.
We need24 sets of holes patterned along the curve (Considering an Open curve).
Therefore the number of pitces works out to be 24+1 = 25.
The pitch distance = 1/25 = 0.04
Let us say we have TWO holes on either side of the pitch point and the distance between them is .02 times the total length. Thus we have the first hole at (0.05-0.01)=0.04 and the second hole at (0.05+.01) = 0.06.
Invoke the POINT command; click on the curve, give the length ratio as 0.04, click again on the curve and give the length ratio as 0.06.
Invoke the Pattern command...
Select FIRST POINT give the pattern dimension = pitch = 0.04 ; Ctrl+ select second point and pattern dimension = 0.04.
Number of pattern instances will be 24.
Construct an axis thru the first point. Construct an axis thru the second point. Group the axes and Reference pattern them.
Now construct a Co-axial hole referencing the first axis, and then another co-axial hole thru the second axis. Group them together and reference pattern the holes.
Also refer to the attached file.
