Hello there,

I've got a question about rendering ( WF2). I have a model of an engineand have made a sectionview of it. (Sorry can't give you an image. ) But when i make a render the section view is gone. I can make an extrude cut but I think it's also possible with a section view is it? The second question is if it's possible to make the material of the section view ( material that is cut away) a different coloor than the original material. I can choose hatching in the view manager but maybe there's a way to give it some color?

Thanks in advance

I have never found or heard of a way to get a section to render. Sombody may have mentioned something in this thread a while back about adding a color to a section view but I have never been able to do it. Didnt really try that much tho, its easier to just do an assembly cut. Its the same exact thing in the model. And you can definetly add color to that surface. And texture. Something you definetly cant add to a section view.

Hi everybody,Yesterday i made this render (WF3 - ARX). Inside of the model there are some cylinderical parts, and outsite body has glass material. It looks like full glass and some parts in it. And also there is bump effects in the floor.I hope you like and waiting comments.

Do you remember that scene from Terminator two, where the metallic man comes out of the floor in the mental hospital, then kills the guard next to the coffee machine ?

It looks like that.

Nice render !

I am now modeling a mustang over the weekend for a rendering project.
Anyone got pictures from the side and front of the new 2006 or
2007 modles? I have been on google images and did not find
anything so perfect.

Any help would be greatly apreciated... Will post images next week.

Wow! I like the-blueprints.com!

I will upload an image or two of the effort thus far.
I cant really say what the project is for other than we will do a
render in Maya or Image Studio to ultimatly be used for an advertisment
that makes an analogy. Old Clasic with modern new.

Alfredo Santillan from Mexico is wraping up the details now.
Alfredo has a degree in Automoile Design from the SPD in Milano
Italy. He works mostly for the deeplabs.com portion of the Design
Engine, Inc business unit and often teaches workshop for
proetools.com His nickname is 'the badass'

Alfredo and I did a tour of Design and Engineering schools in Mexico
together last summer speaking to students about the use of Pro/ENGINEER
on our deeplabs.com projects.

I was thinking the other day that it would be wonderful if vehicle manufacturers would release 3D models on the web. In any format, really.

I myself would much like to have a model of the motorbike I used to ride. Perhaps feed it to an NC and make an aluminium model?

..
and this is my last simple render from my gerabox (my bachelor work) ....

2006-06-22_181701_MIKO-GEARBOX.rar

I know that this is basic render but I will try to render it with ARX and when I will have some good result I will upload it here...

What program do you use to open that file extension? My computer wont even recognize it. Nice car Design-Engine. Looks like you are missing your side curvature on the vehicle but nice modeling none the less. GOOD JOB!

This is a rebot arm I am designing forone of theBig three assembly lines.

RAR is an archive format that has existed parallell to ZIP for a very long time.

http://tgos.org/internet/data.html#rar

It has some advantages to ZIP - especially handy for distributing CAD material on the web as you can easily

a) split archives into smaller pieces in those cases where a mail server disapproves of large attachments
b) put recovery records inside, allowing for a damaged archive to be repaired
c) lock the contents []isecurely[/i] with a password so that only the recipient can open it.

I use WinRAR all the time.

Seems I need to get WINRAR, thanks for the info.

Hi CP.... come on man! great work ......and sorry ... i was out of order
smiley36.gif
.. yes WINRAR is what you need to open it but dont expect nothing special..

...
It seems to be pretty big assembly ... is this a cybernetical robot or it is some chassis for vehicle? I just try to imagine what that could be...

It's an automated fixture thatwill drop inside the vehicles windshieldto remove two skidbolts that hold the frame to the paint skid during the painting phase. The skid bolts are not shown in the render.

My work PC doesnt have winRAR on it either. I surfed the internet yesterday for a few minutes but didnt come across a free dwonload. Does anyone have a quick link to a free, winRAR download?
