RENDERING...Q&A and GALLERY

I have found that selecting perspective from your system default view is the best way to go to get the most realistic view. I would say the issue with the wheels on the Z4 is that he's not using perspective at all.

dojo, looks a nice model and good render. I would add a few more details to the gun barrel though
smiley2.gif
, also try rendering the gun in a gun metal (chromium ) type finish should look pretty cool. Been a long time since I played CS.

CP... have you gone mental !!

Thanks for the compliments Paul...

The render on my computer takes about 45minutes. I dont have any tutorials for you because I taught myself. James Lynch I know has some pretty good tutorials. You might want to ask him. As far as your limitations with WF 2.0. I use a personal edition of WF 1.0 but I have the ARX upgrade which you can see makes quite a difference. That will be your only negative if you dont have the upgrade. The difference between the first three images and the second two.

I'd love to take a stab at rendering this car with a few options in Carrara if I may have the model. Do you have a version of it in a standard 3D format like 3DS, DXF, Wavefront OBJ? I should avctually be able to load even CAD formats IGES and others, since Carrara 4 and 5 have the CADstyle loader.

here's what I do www.thebest3d.com/carrara - focusing on the earlier version 3 and 4 which are already amazingly powerful with global illumination rendering, caustics, indirect lightning and stuff going way beyond raytracing in realism, like HDRI probes and soft shadows.

Let me know if I can have a stab at the model for render testing.

Hi Dojo

I think your model will be great when it's done. I like the image you posted. It shows the true power of the Style function, and how easy it is to visualize you goal when you use trace sketches. I see you are another of the true pro-e commanders. Great work

Why? It's helping some people, which is the point of the forums is it not?

I agree, this is one of the treads I look at first. I like to see what the other people can do with photorender.

hi All!!!

hi dojo!!!

Great work!!!
smiley32.gif
keep it going

I agree, this thread's good. I much appreciated what everybody here contribute to this forum. It helps the amateur (like me
smiley1.gif
), or professional...can get more experiences, knowledge(Pro/E's so wide)

I'd like to ask you that where can we get the the car picture and how to insert it into Pro/E windows. Actually, i don't know that

Thanks in advance

Nice weekend & Best regards

Foolmankh : this topic explains how to add those blueprints to your model : http://www.mcadcentral.com/proe/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=30 466&KW=blueprintSkint's way when you have ISDX, James's way if you dont. In config.pro set your texture_search_path and pro_texture_library folders to where you installed them from the cd (eg) C:\ptc\graphiclib\graphic-library\textures. Copy your images in that same folder.

Blueprints can be found at http://www.suurland.com/ http://www.the-blueprints.com http://www.smcars.net/

Had no time to continue on the body due to 'real' work, but couldnt resits on having a go at the tires. The rubber is still just a basic texture, I just focused on the rim.

Hi guys, Ive not used pro-e for a while, im loosing practice
smiley19.gif

In general I believe my pro-e skills have started to get better, i even helped somebody else out the other day hehe, I have been using it on and off now since I started this forum, so you can say about 3 - 4 months.

I believe my modelling skills have improved but other than that, I am a bit slow at delving deeper into the more intricate parts of pro-e, so... seeing the images above etc and all the conversations I read about ISDX.. i thought i`d give it a go !

Not sure if any of you guys have heard of a sci-fi program called Farscape ? I decided to have a go at modelling a Pulse Pistol, from the tv series. Below is the original picture I used in the ISDX feature, and below that my two images of part itself. Its difficult to find good images for the pistol so I used what I had and used artistic liscense for the rest lol
smiley36.gif

I had fun doing this, and now realise the potential power that ISDX harnesses, guess I need more practice but not a bad start

Hi Skint...Dont worry it is pretty good for start of some project.
smiley1.gif
. I have to say that this is pretty good for regular render .... and model is great ... keep going pal..

Cheers Miko
smiley2.gif

I wasn`t really bothered about the render, but it was a good exercise for learning the basics of ISDX. I think I would be a million miles away from creating a car yet though
smiley36.gif

Hi Skint!!!

Good work, dont stop. I'm very pleasant if you share with us about your ISDX basic
smiley2.gif

i'm studying and gropeIDSX's way but hic...
smiley19.gif
, i haven't got it yet.

Yeah i agree with Skint, to me a billion miles away from reaching a car (dont know when...
smiley5.gif
)

I'm looking forward your new work, Miko. I'm much appreciated what you gave us Miko

Best regards

best way is to start with a old model lada skint,I think its even modelable with just protrusions

and the blueprints exist sooooo (after the beemer it will be my next model hehe)
