RENDERING...Q&A and GALLERY

I knew about the white plane but thats only for doing studio renders. You should try HDRI. It's real hard to assess the render with the low quality image. Upload to a webserver so we can the the high res.

we had HDRI sponsor a rendering competition a number of years ago but I never looked at it. Ok... here I modified the glass materials and tires.

mustang07.jpg

softented up the colors for tire and added transparancy and specular to glass.

You can't tell but there is globe around the entire object that has an image reflecting down to the mustang kinda like how the room works in Pro/PHOTORENDER

Thanks Skwasim, always appreciated.

Design, if your using a globe to render reflection you will want to remove the white plan over the car. The white plane is for studio renders only. The reason I say this is because I can't see any reflection of the globe in the car. Alot of that has to do with the low-res image. Try to get them uploaded on the internet.

low rez porn in the reflection. I will hunt for hi-rez image instead. Your right CPiotrowski.

and justgeo-2 ... justin. Which Justin is this? And that was not an art student :) but you obviously know me well enough.

Great stuff here guys! It took me awhile to get thru the thread but worth the time. Thanks for the tips too. I don't have alot of time to post stuff and I've got some old models I need to go back and have a look at now but here's one I did quick qnd dirty just to share

Thanks again. Great thread. If I have time to tweak stuff more, I'll post some other stuff. I wasn't going to post becuase my stuff doesn't compare at all to some of what I've seen, but then I thought, well, the topic was started to see what other can do so...

Gavetta, Dont worry there are plenty of us on here that are just learning and starting from scratch. I only started using pro-e a few months ago and I have not really had much chance to have a play about, but im looking forward to posting some masterpieces in the future haha.

Welcome aboardthe forum. These are a great bunch of guys on here always willing to lend a helping hand and generally just have fun too.

Thanks Skint. Looking forward to seeing more masterpieces all around, just wish I had more time to create. I've managed to render on more wheel real quick so thought I'd throw it up here also. Hope to be back sooner or later.

Welcome to the forums Gavette. What version of Pro-E and renderer are you using? It will help to know when giving you suggestions. Nice models, I recommend in your renders to use a subtle floor to put your models on and use the room to cast reflections and shadows. That way your not puting the focal point on the floor.

A couple of those cars are real nice, I like the black and grey one the best.

For those of you that are gamers, I was contacted by a video game developer for the 360 and PC. I will be designing a Dodge Charger police cruiser for an upcoming video game in both platforms. The game will be called GangCity. I plan on puting the Belair wheels on it so you will see the C logo on the wheels. I have a year to complete the final model including full interior and exterior, working suspension and steering.

I was in the Yamaha two day class you taught at the end of last summer here in CA. And I'm trying to convince my current contract holders they need some Design Engine help.

Wow CP, fantastic news. I know you are also a 360 user so that must be an excellent buzz for you to be invited to model for an upcoming game. Funny it was only a few months ago I posted a comment on this thread to you asking wether or not you have considered gaming modelling. I will certainly keep an eye open for Gangcity. Hopefully if you make a good go of that, as im sure you will, you will be asked to do more games !! PGR4 looks like it is going to be brilliant !

Currently playing Gears of War, Rainbow Six and Call of Duty3 and have also just purchased Wolrd Snooker Championships, just for something a little different haha, its quite good.

I know you may not be able to share models etc, but pm me some jpg`s or something of your progress, im interested to see how you go about that sort of project. Congrats mate

Hi CP,

I'm using WF-2 with ARX here at work. I order theWF-3 for personal use from theMcad store but haven't installed it yet (it's a time thing, besides the 40hr day job I also play in a rock band 2 or 3nights a week). I do have Rhino-Flamingo-Bongo and Albre on my laptop too. Again, haven't had a lot of time to do much other than install the programs, lol

I saw your renderingss and how you did the chrome. I had to give it a shot. I had never rendered these models before and I have never really done a whole lot of rendering of model. I was really impressed with your work and appreciate the tips and you sharing info with the forum. Keep up the good work and congrates on the gaming job.

Thanks Skint, I will keep the forum updated on the progress. iam still trying to find a blueprint with all four views. What the hell is SNOOKER?

Skwasim-I have yet to work on 3.0 so unfortunetly I cannot help you.

Gavette-The best I can offer for rendering with arx is to scroll back thru and find the rendering setup I posted some time back. That shoudl guide you to a decent render considering you are using ARX.
